Two 4-Star Rated, 18-Hole Public Golf Courses
For well over 100 years, golf has been a part of the Chautauqua experience. From the first links
course laid out in 1896 to the first nine holes opened in 1914; and from the completion in 1924 of
our original Donald Ross- designed 18-hole course to the addition of a second 18 holes, completed in
1994, the Chautauqua Golf Club has offered a high quality golfing experience that invites the novice
but also challenges the experienced player.
Situated on rolling terrain with frequent panoramic views of nearby Chautauqua Lake, our courses have played host to outstanding professionals, including Ben Hogan, Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen and Cary Middlecoff as well as famous visitors to the Chautauqua Institution, including President Bill Clinton in 1996.
